Philip Shrives

Philip Shrives is professor of accounting and corporate governance and head of the accounting and financial management department at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University. Professor Shrives became principal lecturer in 1992 and enjoyed being part of an era that fundamentally altered research capacity within the school, including completing his own PhD at University College Dublin in 2011. He helped in a number of ways to change the culture towards research while maintaining a very high standard of teaching and learning development. Philip is a chartered accountant (FCA, ICAEW) having qualified with the firm Arthur Young (now part of Ernst and Young), and is a fellow of the UK Higher Academy.

Vathunyoo Sila

Dr Vathunyoo Sila is an early career fellow in finance at the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Rachel Slattery

Rachel Slattery is a principal in the chair and non-executive director practice at Odgers Berndtson. She joined the firm in 2005 as a member of the industrial markets practice before moving into the chair and NED practice in 2007, where she specialises in commercial non-executive mandates across sectors, size of business and ownership structure. Rachel has experience of working with clients from FTSE 100 to AIM-listed, privately owned and international businesses.

Nigel Sleigh-Johnson

Dr Nigel Sleigh-Johnson FCA is head of the ICAEW’s Financial Reporting Faculty. He is also secretary to the ICAEW's Financial Reporting Committee, and is responsible for ICAEW policy on financial reporting and its commentary on consultations issued by the IASB and other bodies.

Peta Slocombe

Peta Slocombe is a practising psychologist, author and speaker based in Perth, Australia. Specialising in executive and high performance psychology, she also has 25 years’ experience working clinically with individuals with depression, anxiety, and trauma. This is in addition to her work with teams and organisations at all levels of the continuum—from surviving to thriving. Peta believes that a focus on executive psychology will increasingly become the greatest differentiator to performance. She is co-creator of the One Million Lives initiative and is currently CEO of Performance Story.

N. Craig Smith

Professor N. Craig Smith is the INSEAD chair in ethics and social responsibility, the programme director of the INSEAD Healthcare Compliance Implementation Leadership Programme and a specialist professor at the INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre. He was previously on the faculties of London Business School, Georgetown University and Harvard Business School.

Victor Sojo

Dr. Victor Sojo is a research fellow at the Centre for Workplace Leadership (CWL), Department of Management and Marketing, The University of Melbourne. Before joining the CWL, Victor worked as a research fellow and research manager of the Centre for Ethical Leadership. Before that he was a lecturer at the Central University of Venezuela, in Caracas, his hometown. Victor’s research focuses on risk and protective factors affecting the fit, functioning, and growth of women and members of minority groups in occupational contexts.

Ron Soonieus

Ron is a founding partner at cultural leadership firm Camunico. He has extensive experience in leadership gained through roles in the executive management and boards of public and privately owned companies throughout Europe, Middle East, India, United States and South America. Ron studied international management and business administration at the university of Huddersfield (United Kingdom) and INSEAD (France), and is an alumnus of the INSEAD non-executive directors program. In addition to Camunico, Ron is an executive-in-residence with INSEAD and he acts as non-executive for various organisations.

Edward Speed

Edward Speed is chairman of the worldwide board of Spencer Stuart and is active on CEO succession and Board searches globally. More recently, Edward led Spencer Stuart’s EMEA Boards & CEO Practice, focusing on CEO search and succession. He has recruited chairmen, non-executive directors, CEOs and top management for leading public and privately owned companies.

Alasdair Steele

Alasdair Steele is a partner and head of equity capital markets at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP. He specialises in UK and cross-border corporate finance, including public and private M&A, strategic investments and primary and secondary equity issues, as well as regularly advising on infrastructure consortia and corporate joint venture arrangements. He regularly advises quoted companies and financial intermediaries on the UK Listing Rules, Prospectus Regulation Rules, Disclosure and Transparency Rules, AIM Rules, the Takeover Code and general company law. Alasdair has a particular focus on the infrastructure and technology sectors and regularly visits clients, investors and advisers in China and India.
