Simon Osborne

Simon is chief executive and a fellow of ICSA, as well as being a solicitor. Before joining ICSA, Simon was a freelance governance consultant. Until April 2003, Simon's career was in the British railway industry as general counsel, company secretary and latterly a main board executive director. From January 2005 until October 2011 (when he became chief executive of ICSA), Simon chaired ICSA's Company Secretaries Forum, which comprises mainly company secretaries from FTSE 250 companies. He is a member of the International Corporate Governance Network, serving on the Business Ethics and (as chair) the Bylaws & Procedures Committees.

Onyeka Osuji

Dr Osuji is a senior lecturer and deputy director of education at the University of Exeter Law School. He has practised in corporate and commercial law and is qualified as a barrister and solicitor of Nigeria and a (non-practising) solicitor of England and Wales. He has advised individuals, corporations, and national and international governmental and non-governmental organisations. Dr Osuji currently teaches the law of contract and corporate social responsibility: globalisation and regulation.

Frederik Otto

Frederik Otto is the founder and executive director of The Sustainability Board, an independent non-profit organisation supporting sustainable leadership and governance through research, thought leadership, and intelligence services. The Sustainability Board believes that poor leadership is a systemic risk, and that business is a powerful vehicle for positive change. Its reports, intelligence, dialogues, and community aim to drive accountability for a sustainable future. Frederik is a leader in consulting for multinational companies on organisation and human capital strategy, with a focus on sustainability and ESG. He is also a member of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism and a fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.

Maggie Pagano

Margareta Pagano is associate editor of Board Agenda. An award-winning business journalist, Maggie was formerly business editor of the Independent on Sunday and founding editor of Financial News, the City's specialist online news service. She continues to write regularly for The Times, the Daily Mail and Financial News.

Aleksandra Palinska

Aleksandra is senior policy adviser at EuropeanIssuers. She leads its policy work overseeing policy-related committees and working groups, organising member responses to EU consultations and monitoring EU policy developments. She has a strong background in economics with a Master’s degree from the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland, and a diploma in European Studies in Finance, Economics and Law European from the Warsaw School of Economics. Aleksandra's experience at Euroshareholders and the World Federation of Investors provides a deep understanding of investors’ needs and concerns.

Oliver Parry

Oliver Parry is the Institute of Directors' senior adviser and spokesperson on corporate governance and, more broadly, company law-based issues. He joined the IoD in June 2014. A former communications director at the Financial Reporting Council, Oliver has previously worked for communications agency Redleaf Polhill, a leading investor relations and advisory firm in the City of London and for Cicero Consulting, where he advised a range of blue chip FTSE 100 companies on their corporate affairs. Oliver began his career working for Patrick McLoughlin in his parliamentary office and also had a stint at Conservative Party Central Office. He read History at Newcastle University.

Simon Patterson

Simon Patterson is a managing director and head of Pearl Meyer's London office. He is actively engaged as adviser to the remuneration committees of several FTSE 100 companies and consults widely on executive compensation, incentive compensation design and performance measurement. Prior to Pearl Meyer, he founded Patterson Associates with a streamlined team, focused on delivering business results by linking remuneration and reward systems to business needs and increasing returns for shareholders. Prior to that Simon was the worldwide partner in charge of executive compensation in Mercer’s London office and the co-founder of SCA Consulting in Europe. Simon holds a BSc (Hons) from University College London and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Clare Payn

Clare Payn is head of corporate governance North America for Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM). She has overall responsibility for LGIM’s ESG engagement, voting activities and policy setting in the North American region. She communicates with companies, investors, and other market participants in striving for best practice in this market. Clare also leads the governance team’s work on improving gender diversity on corporate boards. She sits on L&G Group plc’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which works towards creating an inclusive and diverse culture. She also sits on the Female Talent Forum, a committee focused on strengthening the Group’s female representation below board and executive level.

Sandy Pepper

Alexander (Sandy) Pepper is professor of management practice in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a leading researcher in HR management and labour markets issues, especially the impact of incentives and rewards on the behaviour of senior executives. Before joining LSE, he had a long career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he held various senior management roles, including global leader of the HR Service business. Professor Pepper has recently authored The Economic Psychology of Incentives, published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Meredith Persily Lamel

Meredith Persily Lamel, MBA, is a sought-after leadership expert across the public and private sectors, supporting C-suite executives and elected members of Congress alike. She is CEO of Aspire@Work, an executive coaching and leadership consultancy based in Washington, DC and also an adjunct professor at American University’s School of Public Administration.

Alexia Perversi

Alexia is a director in Mazars' Global Sustainability Service Team working with clients to help address sustainability and non-financial disclosure needs. She has experience in delivering sustainability and ESG governance, risk assessment, strategy alignment, measurement, reporting and assurance services. Alexia is Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) qualified and serves as a member of the CDSB Working Group and the ICAEW Sustainability Committee. She participates to the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) Annual Report Critique program and is currently working with the EFRAG Project Task Force on preparatory work for the elaboration of possible EU non-financial reporting standards.

Ian Peters

Dr Ian Peters MBE is the director of the Institute of Business Ethics. He is the former chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors and has held senior roles at the British Chambers of Commerce and the Confederation of British Industry.
