BT Group plc has announced the appointment of Tushar Morzaria to its board as an independent non-executive director. He will become a member of the audit & risk committee, nominations committee and remuneration committee.
Morzaria is a chartered accountant with over 25 years’ of strategic financial management experience. He is currently a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of both BP plc and Legal & General Group plc.
From 2013 to 2022, Morzaria was group finance director of Barclays plc. Prior to this, he held various senior finance roles at JP Morgan Chase & Co, including chief financial officer of its Corporate & Investment Bank.
Adam Crozier, BT Group’s chair, said “We are very pleased to welcome Tushar to the board. His prior experience, especially in relation to financial and operational resilience, and corporate change, will be an incredibly valuable addition to the experience and skills of the BT Group board.”
