The 20th European Corporate Governance conference opened today in Malta, with digitalisation and company law as its main theme.
A statement from the EU said the “conference will bring together decision makers from the public and private sector to discuss recent changes in corporate governance, in the global context, in relation to capital markets transparency, ongoing improvements, and the digitalisation processes of governance as an advantage across the European Union.”
The conference is due to explore issues such as long-term value creation, and rebuilding trust in companies through corporate governance.
Speakers include Mark Goyder, chief executive of the think-tank Tomorrow’s Company; Florence Bindelle, secretary general of European Issuers; as well as Marcello Bianchi, chairman of the OECD’s corporate governance committee and deputy director general of Assonime. Also appearing is Guylaine Saucier, audit committee chairman at Wendal.
