Jet2 plc has announced the appointment of Robin Terrell as non-executive chair, as Philip Meeson steps down as executive chair.
Terrell was appointed as an independent non-executive director of Jet2 and has since taken on the expanded remit of chair of its audit & risk and remuneration committees. In November 2022, he was appointed senior independent non-executive director.
Terrell holds non-executive director roles at New Look, Wetsuit Outlet and organic lifestyle retailer Big Green Smile. He has previously been a NED of Stockholm-based retailer Åhléns, William Hill, Karen Millen, Wilko and Maplin, among others.
Terrell’s executive career included senior roles at Amazon UK, John Lewis Direct, Tesco UK, Figleaves.com and Dell Computers.
On an interim basis, Terrell will remain chair of the audit & risk committee, pending the recruitment of a further independent non-executive director with recent and relevant financial experience. He will also remain a member of the remuneration committee, with Simon Breakwell as its new chair.
Philip Meeson commented: “Robin’s background across consumer and online industries has already proven to be of significant benefit to the company and I am absolutely certain he will be a fantastic chair, providing great support to Steve [Heapy, CEO] and Gary [Brown, CFO].
“Although I am stepping back from the board, I’m proud to remain a significant shareholder and will remain a strong supporter of the business. I am confident that, thanks to our outstanding team across the business, the company will go on to enjoy even greater success in the future.”
