Associated British Foods plc has announced that Kumsal Bayazit is to be appointed as a non-executive director of the company. She will also become a member of the audit and remuneration committees.
Bayazit is chief executive officer of Elsevier, having joined from Elsevier’s parent company, RELX PLC, in 2019.
Since 2004, Bayazit has held multiple management positions, including as chief strategy officer at RELX and, until 2023, as chair of the RELX technology forum, responsible for technology, risk management and cyber security strategy across the RELX Group.
Prior to joining RELX, Bayazit spent several years at Bain & Company in its New York, Los Angeles, Johannesburg and Sydney offices.
Bayazit also serves as a non-executive director of Preqin. She was a non-executive director of LSL Property Services plc from September 2015 to April 2019.
