The board of Barratt Developments PLC has approved the appointment of Jasi Halai as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2023. When she joins, Halai will also become a member of the company’s audit, nomination, remuneration and sustainability committees.
Halai is chief operating officer for 3i Group and joined its board in May this year. She is also a non-executive director at specialist technology manufacturer Porvair Plc, a position she will relinquish at the end of their financial year audit process in January 2023. A chartered management accountant, she holds an MSc in investment management from Cass (now Bayes) Business School.
Halai joined 3i in 2005 and has held a variety of posts in the business, most recently as group financial controller and operating officer. Prior to joining 3i, she worked for CDC Group (now British International Investment) and at Actis.
John Allan, chair of Barratt, said: “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Jasi to the Barratt board. Jasi will bring a wealth of financial and business skills and experience, which complement those of the other board members and which will be of great value to the company over the coming years.”
