Severn Trent Plc has announced that Richard Taylor has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 1 April 2024. He will also become a member of the treasury, remuneration, audit and risk and nominations committees.
Taylor will succeed Gillian Sheldon as chair of the treasury committee upon Sheldon’s retirement from the board on 14 May this year. He has also been appointed to the Board of Severn Trent Water Limited.
Taylor brings extensive financial experience gained through his career in investment banking and is currently chair of Greenhill & Co International. Prior to joining Greenhill in 2020, Taylor was chair of global corporate and investment banking at Barclays Plc, and had previously held senior roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Taylor is also a trustee of the social enterprise Teach First and a board member of the Sutton Trust, an educational charity.
