Centrica plc has announced the appointment of Philippe Boisseau as a non-executive director of the company from next month, whereupon he will also become a member of the company’s safety, environment and sustainability committee, audit and risk committee, and nominations committee.
Boisseau was CEO of CEPSA (Compañía Española de Petróleos SA), the Spanish multinational oil and gas, chemicals and renewable energy business, from 2019 to 2021. Prior to joining CEPSA, he spent over 20 years at TotalEnergies SA, during which time he held senior executive roles across various business divisions. He established Total’s New Energies division, which he led from 2007 to 2016.
Boisseau has been senior adviser to Carlyle International Energy Partners (2017-2019) and a member of the board of I-Pulse Inc (2017-2021). He also holds senior adviser roles at OMERS Infrastructure, Ondra Partners and Sibanye-Stillwater Limited.
Scott Wheway, chair of Centrica, said: “I look forward to welcoming Philippe to the board as a non-executive director. Philippe will bring deep experience of the energy industry, particularly of energy assets, energy infrastructure and the renewable energy transition, that will be of great benefit to Centrica.”
