Theo Botha is a South African shareholder activist and a director of Proxy View, which provides proxy advisory services and ESG/executive compensation research reports on issuers listed on the JSE and A2X in South Africa. He has queried many companies in the area of sound corporate governance, ethics, executive compensation, environmental practices and Black Economic Empowerment. Theo served articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers and went into property broking in 1994. He first became involved in issues of corporate governance in 2002, with his first investment in the Sage Group. Theo is passionate about asking executives of big business tough questions. He is seen as the leading shareholder activist in South Africa, constantly pressing corporates for more transparency and good corporate governance.
