Mark Balaam is CEO of safeguarding platform imabi. He founded imabi four years ago, after 30 years of providing security support to the UK government. He foresaw the need to be preventative. The imabi platform powers the British Transport Police’s Railway Guardian app, now used by 750,000 train travellers every day, while the imabi Inspire app protects more than 30,000 pupils and is credited with saving two lives, as well as with apprehending criminals preying on schoolchildren. The same platform powers the imabi PRO for business, which was helping employers meet the upcoming requirements of the Worker Protection Act before the Bill was published in June 2022. As one user put it, PRO for business focuses “on anticipated issues before they arise, rather than simply reacting after the fact”.
