Loretto Leavy is a company secretary, and a researcher at the University of Exeter Business School. Loretto has worked as a company secretary to boards of complex organisations for two decades across various sectors and jurisdictions, focusing on financial services in the last decade. She is completing her PhD in leadership (researching behavioural dynamics), while working part-time as a group company secretary. Loretto also served as trustee for Magpas Air Ambulance for eight years until 2021, serving as chair of its remuneration and nomination committees. She is leading a current research programme on board behavioural dynamics. The programme involved an extensive literature review, analysed 50 FTSE boards to extract the behavioural dynamic practices, and via workshops and consultation validated that the findings were in line with current practices in large and highly regulated organisations.
