Ian Burger chairs the board of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), the world’s largest investor-led membership organisation focused on governance and investor stewardship. He is also the head of stewardship at the UK’s largest asset owner, Universities Superannuation Scheme. In recent years he has consulted with asset managers on their approaches to responsible investment. Ian has nearly three decades' experience in the investment industry, where he has been responsible for developing, implementing and progressing the integration of sustainability, responsible investment and stewardship throughout investment processes. Ian has served on a variety of formal groups and committees, including the IFRS Advisory Council, the GC100 and Investor Group, The Corporate Governance Institute’s Investment Committee and the UK Investment Association’s Stewardship Working Group.
