Vistry Group PLC has announced the appointment of Rob Woodward CBE as non-executive chair of the board, with effect from the conclusion of the AGM on 13 May 2026.
Woodward has served as non-executive senior independent director of the company and chair of the nomination committee since joining the board. He has extensive experience across both the public and private sectors. He is currently the chair of advertising consultancy Ebiquity plc and also chairs the board of Norwegian educational provider Lumi Gruppen. From 2018 until February 2025, he held the position of chair of Glasgow Caledonian University.
In his executive career, Woodward served as CEO of digital media company STV Group plc for more than ten years. He had previously been commercial director at Channel 4 Television, managing director with UBS Corporate Finance and lead partner for Deloitte’s Telecoms, Media & Technology Industry Group in Europe.
In line with UK Corporate Governance Code recommendations, Woodward will, from 13 May, retire as a member of the audit and remuneration committees but retain the role of chair of the nomination committee.
The board has also appointed Rowan Baker as senior independent director. She has been a non-executive director since May 2022 and will remain chair of the audit committee.
Chair designate Woodward said: “I am delighted to be appointed Chair of Vistry Group and welcome the appointment of Rowan as my replacement as Senior Independent Director. I very much look forward to continuing to work with the Board and the senior management team as we focus on rebuilding value by maximising the strengths and opportunities from the Group’s mixed tenure partnership model.”
