Haleon plc, the consumer health multinational whose long-standing brands include Advil, Panadol and Sensodyne, has announced the resignation of Sir Dave Lewis as chair and appointment of Manvinder Singh (Vindi) Banga as his successor.
Banga has extensive international board experience. He is currently chair of UK Government Investments Limited (UKGI) and has previously served as senior independent director at GSK and Marks and Spencer plc. Banga is a partner at private investment firm CD&R, where he has chaired and served on the boards of several of the firm’s portfolio companies. He is chair of the council of Imperial College London and a non-executive director of The Economist Newspaper Limited. At Haleon, he is senior independent director and a member of the audit & risk, nominations & governance and remuneration committees.
Other prior roles include non-executive director of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Thomson Reuters Corp, chair of the supervisory board of Mauser Group, chair of Kalle GmbH, and chair of the executive committee at Diversey Inc.
Banga spent 33 years at Unilever plc, where he was also CEO and chair of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, one of India’s largest listed companies, and was also responsible for Global Home & Personal Care, Foods and Ice Cream and was a member of the Unilever executive board.
