Currys plc has announced the appointment of Rune Bjerke as an independent non-executive director and a member of the audit committee with effect from 8 September 2025.

Bjerke is chair of Norsk Hydro and Wallenius Wilhelmsen and a non-executive director of Reitan Retail. He has had an extensive career in international energy and banking corporations in Norway, having previously held positions as chief executive officer of DNB, Hafslund and Scancem International, advisor at the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and city commissioner of finance in the city cabinet of Oslo. Bjerke has formerly served as a non-executive director at Fremtind, Vipps and Schibsted.

In the Nordic countries, Currys trades under the Elkjøp brand.
