Santander UK plc and Santander UK Group Holdings plc have announced the appointment of David Gledhill as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2024.
Gledhill is a non-executive director of Singapore Airlines (since 2018) and the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore. He has significant experience in financial services, retail banking and digital transformation.
Gledhill has held various senior leadership roles in the financial services industry, including group chief information officer and head of technology and operations at DBS Bank in Singapore. Following more than a decade in that role, he joined Lloyds Banking Group as group chief operating officer.
Santander UK’s chair, William Vereker, said: “I am delighted to welcome David to the boards of Santander UK. He brings a breadth of experience which will add value to our plans to transform our business and I am looking forward to working with him.”
