Insurance multinational Aviva plc has today announced that Cheryl Agius was appointed as a non-executive director of Aviva plc on 21 May 2024. She is to sit on the Aviva plc nomination and governance, risk and customer and sustainability committees.
Agius was also appointed as a non-executive director and chair of Aviva Investors Holdings Limited, having previously been a non-executive director of Aviva Life Holdings UK Limited, Aviva Life & Pensions Limited, and Equity Release UK Limited, all subsidiaries in the Aviva Group.
Between January 2020 and January 2021, Agius was chief executive officer of Saga’s general insurance business and an executive director of Saga plc, a UK listed company. Prior to that, she was CEO of Legal & General Group’s general insurance business and held senior leadership roles in Legal & General’s retirement division.
