The board of BlackRock Sustainable American Income Trust plc has announced the appointment of Solomon Soquar as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Soquar has over 30 years’ experience across investment banking, capital markets, and wealth management. His career has included working at Goldman Sachs, Bankers Trust, Merrill Lynch, Citi and Barclays. His most recent executive role was as chief executive of Barclays Investments Solutions Limited.
Soquar is also a NED of Ruffer Investment Company. He chairs the Africa Research Excellence Fund and is a business fellow of the University of Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.
Soquar both studied and taught at Oxford: he holds a BA/MA in politics, philosophy, and economics, and an MPhil in economics from Balliol College.
