Co-operative Group Limited has announced that Adrian Marsh will become an independent non-executive director of the group.

Marsh will retire from his role as group finance director at DS Smith, a FTSE 100 packaging company, after 10 years in the job. He previously held senior finance positions at Tesco and AstraZeneca.

Marsh is also a NED and chair of the audit committee of John Wood Group.
