Greggs plc has announced the appointment of Nigel Mills as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. He will sit as a NED on the company’s audit, remuneration and nominations committees. It is intended that Mills will become senior independent director after the company’s AGM in May.
Mills’ executive career included being chief executive at capital market company Hoare Govett and chair of corporate broking at Citi Group.
Mills is currently senior independent director at John Wood Group and also at Persimmon, where he was also acting chair during 2018.
