Asset manager ICG plc has appointed William Rucker as a non-executive director and chair of the company. Rucker will succeed Andrew Sykes, who has been interim chair since March this year. Sykes is to remain on the board as a NED, returning to his role as senior independent director.
Rucker will also chair ICG’s nominations and governance committee and sit on the remuneration committee.
Rucker has been chair of Lazard UK since 2019, before which he held the role of CEO at the investment bank. He joined Lazard in 1987, having qualified as a chartered accountant at Arthur Andersen.
His other NED appointments include being chair of Marston’s Plc, chair of the UK Dementia Research Institute and a steward of the Jockey Club. Previously, he chaired Crest Nicholson and Quintain Estates and Developments and was a NED of Rentokil Initial.
Sykes said: “We are delighted that William has agreed to join the board at such an important moment in ICG’s development. The breadth of his experience within financial services will be of great benefit to the company and I look forward to working with him.”
