AO World plc has announced that Sarah Venning’s appointment as an independent NED.
Venning is currently global chief digital officer at sandwich chain Pret A Manger, leading its digital and technological transformation. Before joining Pret nearly four years ago, she was director of group IT strategy and architecture at the John Lewis Partnership, and she has also been director of IT performance and planning at BAA (Heathrow).
Venning started her career at PwC and has held senior positions at boo.com and Emap.
Commenting on the appointment, Geoff Cooper, chair of AO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah as a non-executive director. Sarah’s skill set and experience in digital transformation and information technology, combined with her passion for excellent customer service will be of great benefit to the board and AO as we focus on our UK strategy.”
