Li Fanrong this week became chair of Pirelli’s board of directors. He is also chair of the board of Sinochem Holdings Corporation, a role he took over in August, which had also been previously occupied by Ning.
At Pirelli, Li will also sit on the strategies committee and nominations and succession committee.
Prior to taking on these roles, Li was board director and president of China National Petroleum Corporation, at the same time as being vice chair of PetroChina Company Limited. He has held senior roles at the China National Offshore Oil Corporation and Nexen Energy.
Li is also chair of agricultural company Syngenta Group, of Syngenta AG and of China Jinmao real estate company (units within Sinochem).
After graduating from the Jianghan Petroleum Institute (currently Yangtze University), majoring in petroleum production engineering, Li obtained his MBA from Cardiff University.
