Yahoo has announced the appointment of Jen Rubio, co-founder and CEO of luggage retailer Away to its board of directors.
Rubio co-founded and launched Away in 2016. She serves on the board of trustees for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and is an ‘angel investor’ and advisor to a growing list of start-ups.
Tech giant Yahoo, owned by Apollo Global Management and Verizon, now focuses on online products spanning finance, sports, shopping, gaming and news.
Rubio joins the six leaders appointed to Yahoo’s new board in June, who include actress-turned-entrepreneur Jessica Alba, and Aryeh Bourkoff, CEO of investment bank LionTree.
“We are thrilled to add a world-class entrepreneur like Jen to our board of industry experts,” said Jim Lanzone, CEO of Yahoo. “Jen’s experience across innovation, brand marketing and social media will be highly valuable and I, along with my fellow board members, look forward to working with her.”
