British American Tobacco has appointed Véronique Laury as an independent non-executive director and member of its nominations and audit committees,
Laury worked at Kingfisher (owners of B&Q and Screwfix) for over 15 years, holding several leadership roles, most recently as group CEO between 2014 and 2019. When she left Kingfisher, Laury founded her own consultancy, Weee consulting.
Laury is a non-executive director of WeWork, Tarkett flooring, Eczacibasi Holding (a prominent Turkish industrial group), Sodexo and Inter Ikea Holding Services. She also served as a non-executive director of German DIY—store chain Hornback Baumarkt from 2009 to 2013.
Commenting on the appointment, Luc Jobin, chair, said: “I am pleased to welcome Véronique to our board.
