Sir Douglas Flint will assume the role of chair of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity when Charles Alexander CBE’s six-year term of office expires in November.
Sir Douglas has been a trustee of the charity, which exists solely to support The Royal Marsden cancer centre in London, since 2017.
Having been a partner at KPMG, Sir Douglas joined HSBC in 1995 as group finance director. He became group chairman in 2010 and retired in 2017. He currently serves as chair of two corporate boards in the UK: Abrdn plc and IP Group plc.
Antonia Dalmahoy, managing director of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, said: “Douglas’s breadth of business experience and his passion for The Royal Marsden and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity will be of immense value to all of us.”
