IHG appoints Byron Grote as non-executive director

Grote will join the board on 1 July and succeed Ian Dyson as chair of the audit committee from 1 March 2023.

Byron Grote has been appointed as a non-executive director at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

Grote will join the board on 1 July and succeed Ian Dyson as chair of the audit committee from 1 March 2023.

Grote is a former chief financial officer at BP, and has served on a number of boards, including at Standard Chartered, Tesco, Akzo Nobel, Anglo American and Unilever. He is currently audit committee chair at Tesco and Akzo Nobel.

Patrick Cescau, chair of IHG, commented: “We are delighted that Byron will join IHG’s board. Byron has an outstanding track record of serving a range of leading international businesses, both at board level and in senior management positions. His extensive experience, particularly in finance and chairing audit committees, will further strengthen IHG’s board.”
