Jim Mintern will join the board of building materials business CRH as group finance director in June, following the retirement of Senan Murphy.
Mintern has over 30 years of experience in the building materials industry, nearly 20 years of which have been spent with CRH.
He joined CRH in Ireland as finance director for Roadstone in 2002 and since then has held several senior positions across the group.
Albert Manifold, group chief executive, said: “[Mintern’s] strong financial background, coupled with his extensive industry experience, prepares him well for this critical leadership role and comes at an important time for the group”.
The company has also announced the appointment of Caroline Dowling as a non-executive director.
Dowling was previously a business group president of Fortune 500 company Flex, where she led the telecoms, enterprise compute, networking and cloud data center and was responsible for managing the global services division, supporting complex supply chains. She is a non-executive director of DCC and IMI.
CRH chair Richie Boucher said: “Caroline has extensive operational experience as a senior executive in a global technology company. Her knowledge and insights will add greatly to the board as we continue to execute on our strategy and to drive shareholder value.”
