Ashley Steel will join the board of Cineworld Group as an independent non-executive director next month.
She will also become a member of the audit and remuneration committees.
Steel is a former vice chair and member of the UK and European boards of KPMG, and led the global transport, leisure and logistic practice at KPMG for 11 years.
She is a non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee at National Express Group, and was previously a non-executive director at GoCo Group, the BBC, the Civil Aviation Authority and Ince & Co.
Cineworld chair Alicja Kornasiewicz said: “On behalf of the board, we look forward to welcoming Ashley as an independent non-executive director. We will greatly benefit from the wealth of experience that Ashley brings, especially in the key areas of business, risk and remuneration.”
In other board changes at Cineworld, non-executive director and senior independent director Eric (Rick) Senat will step down from the board at the conclusion of the 2021 AGM. Dean Moore will take up the role of senior independent director with immediate effect. Independent non-executive director Damian Sanders has been appointed as chair of the audit committee from April.
