Elisabeth Brinton will join the board of mining company Anglo American as a non-executive director next month.
Brinton is executive vice president of global renewables and energy solutions at multinational oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell.
Stuart Chambers, chair of Anglo American, said: "Elisabeth Brinton's experience of developing clean energy strategies around the world, with a clear commercial focus on the potential for digital technologies, will bring additional insights to our board discussions."
