KPMG has appointed Bina Mehta to act as temporary chair after Bill Michael stepped down last week.
Mehta is a long-standing partner and UK board member at KPMG. It is the first time that the chair role has been held by a woman.
KPMG said it would hold a leadership election to choose Michael’s permanent successor “in due course”.
