Tony Quinlan has joined the board of construction and engineering giant Costain as a non-executive director. He will be a member of the company’s audit, remuneration and nomination committees.
Quinlan is a non-executive director of Hill & Smith Holdings and Associated British Ports, and an adviser to tech company Laird. He is a former CEO and CFO of Laird, and a former CFO of Drax Group.
Costain’s senior independent director and chair of the audit committee, Jane Lodge, is to step down after the company AGM in May, after nine years on the board. It is intended Quinlan will succeed Lodge as chair of the audit committee.
Board chair Dr Paul Golby said in a statement: “[Quinlan] is an experienced non-executive director and audit chair and also brings experience as a public company chief executive and FTSE 250 finance director. His experience in energy and technology will be an asset to Costain as the group focuses on the decarbonisation and digital delivery of the UK’s critical national infrastructure.”
