Diligent, the corporate governance software provider, has launched its search to honour the highest performing professionals in governance with its Modern Governance 100 programme 2020.
The project sees nominations open to identify company secretaries, corporate counsels and other professionals who have progressed corporate governance as a discipline at their employers.
Diligent says: “Modern governance is the practice of empowering leaders with the technology, insights, and processes that fuel good governance. During these challenging times, governance professionals who enable modern governance are more important than ever.”
Executives, non-executives and peers are invited to nominate professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to good governance and driving change in their organisations.
Diligent seeks to recognise professionals from the Americas, Europe, the Middle and Africa and the Asia Pacific region.
Shaping governance practices
One professional honoured last year was Victoria Garvin, head of subsidiary governance at Aviva. She said: “Being recognised as one of the first Modern Governance 100 is quite an honour.
“Playing an active role in shaping the way governance practices are developed and applied within a business puts the general counsel and company secretary in a truly unique role to help implement the governance agenda and act as trusted advisers to the boards we support.
“Having our accomplishments celebrated in this way is wonderful.”
