Simon Pryce, group chief executive of BBA Aviation, is to join Electrocomponents, the global engineering distributer, as a non-executive director.

BBA Aviation plc is a provider of aviation support and services, with large interests in the US.

Previously, Pryce worked at GKN, initially in financial roles and then as chief executive of its diversified business group.

Pryce is also on the board of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the US general aviation trade body, and serves as chairman of its international affairs committee. Pryce is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
