Johnson Matthey has appointed Dr Jane Griffiths, group chairman of Janssen EMEA, as a non-executive director.
Griffiths will join the board from January. Janssen is the research arm of Johnson & Johnson where Griffiths is a sponsor of the company’s Women’s Leadership Initiative.
Griffiths has been with Johnson & Johnson since 1982. She also serves as chairman of the group’s Citizenship Trust.
Tim Stevenson, chairman of Johnson Matthey, said: “Jane brings significant experience and understanding of the management of global businesses, particularly across the pharmaceutical sector, together with a strong interest in diversity and the encouragement of women’s careers in business”.
