Peter Long, currently joint CEO at tourism group TUI, is to join the board of Royal Mail as chairman from September.
Long will step down from his role at TUI in February next year and assume chairmanship of the company’s supervisory board. Long succeeds Donald Brydon as chairman who has held the post since 2009.
Long is also a former CEO of First Choice holidays.
Orna Ni-Chionna, chairman of Royal Mail’s nominations committee said, said: “I am very pleased that we have appointed someone with the right combination of skills and experience to take over from Donald Brydon, who has chaired this company supremely well over the past six years. All of us on the Board look forward to working with Peter.”
