HSBC has appointed two new independent non-executives. Irene Lee, who joins in July, is also an non-executive at Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and Hang Seng Bank. She is currently executive chairman at Hysan Development Company, the property development and investment specialist in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, lawyer Pauline van der Meer Mohr, executive board chairman of Erasmus University, Rotterdam, joins the HSBC board in September. She has also held senior positions including HR director, information technology at Shell; and HR director at TNT.
